Members of St. Justin Martyr's Marriage Ministry attended the Diocesan Marriage Night at St. Noel's Church and Banquet Center on February 1. There was a packed church and banquet center as couples devoted time to enriching their marriages. Mass was celebrated at 5:00pm followed by Eucharistic Adoration with a homily by Fr. Ryan Mann, pastor of St. Basil the Great in Brecksville.
Fr. Ryan's message reminded us that marriage is a sacrament, a real and active sign of Christ's love at work in the world. When you love your spouse, when you sacrifice for your spouse--you are being Jesus. We all know how hard it is to forgive, be patient, bear one another's wrongs--yet Jesus did this for us and we as members of His Body are called to do it for one another, especially in our marriages. Fr. Ryan led couples in a beautiful prayer experience of praying for each other before wrapping up the evening with Benediction.
The night continued with a great dinner catered by St. Noel's Banquet Center, dancing, door prizes, a photo booth and more! Our own Dave and Shirley Pecjak were the winners of the "anniversary dance" with the most years married at 65 years of wedded bliss.
All are welcome to join events by our Marriage Ministry here at St. Justin Martyr. If you would like more information, contact Deacon Tim at [email protected].
