Leadership

Parish Council

Promotes spiritual growth of the parish community; plans ways for the parish to carry out the mission of the Church; unites laity and clergy in a community of prayer, leadership, service and planning. Recommends to the pastor a pastoral plan for the development or renewal of the ministries and life of the parish; discerns what needs to be supported, changed or developed. Open to registered Catholic members of the parish who are in full communion with the Church. New members are called forth prior to the end of each council’s term. Candidates should possess:

• willingness to participate in an orientation process;
• willingness to listen and be open-minded to the ideas of others and the good of the whole parish;
• dedication to the mission and spiritual welfare of the parish;
• willingness to work with the pastor; commitment to work in a group process of prayer, consensus building and planning.

Finance Council
Aids the pastor in administration of parish material in order to carry out the mission of the Church. Provides sound financial guidance and planning regarding the resources needed to develop and implement parish plans, programs and policies. Appointed by the pastor according to Diocesan guidelines and after consultation with prospective candidates. Prospective candidates should possess an active, lively faith and skills in finance, administration or law.

Worship Commission
Coordinates music, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and the environment required for meaningful celebration of the liturgy. Plans special liturgies for major Church feasts and national holidays.

Stewardship
Calling all the members of the parish community to make a commitment as disciples of Christ in a Catholic community to make the most responsible use of one’s gifts and resources: time, talent and financial resources. Open to all parishioners.
